About Minna Canth was the first widely-read Finnish woman writer. Her realist portrayals of working-class struggles quickly became key works of Finnish literature. But her social impact leaped outside the pages of books. Canth was also a journalist, suffragist, entrepreneur, and mother of seven. Finland celebrates the writer and her social impact every 19th of March, her birthday and the National Day of Equality.
Did you know? Minna Canth ran a salon, which was radically unusual for a woman in her time. It was popular with the Finnish cultural elite: Romanticist painter Akseli Gallen-Kallela and pioneering woman artist Venny Soldan-Brofeldt were regular patrons.
This necklace presents the most important wisdom of life for me. I got this from my mom for my 50th birthday, and I just ❤ it. Good quality, clear text, and the meaning for today is important.
It's so pretty it's a Christmas gift for my daughter
Thank you so much Leena! We wish you and your daughter the loveliest holiday season – The Ordbord Team
